Had lunch a few weeks back with my wife at SEI. Upon entering the first thing you notice is that it feels like a swank mid-range place in New York, complete with an Asian maitre’d with an earring and spiky colored hair. The ambience is youthful and beautiful with plush white seats packed tight for intimate conversation.
The menu is electic, fusioned and otherwise New Yorkish. I was enticed by the Fried Chicken Sandwich (buttermilk fried chicken breast, mango chili slaw, shichimio tots) and my wife went for the Sea Bass which was good if not exciting. My chicken sandwhich was delightful and the shimchi tater tots reminded me of childhood lunches without the greasiness of school cafeteria tots. Portions were just right.
Definitely worth a return. (My wife says the chicken katsu is worth a try!)
